Legal Aid Alberta has launched a line of new brochures in an effort to raise awareness about the programs and services it delivers to Albertans.
As part of its efforts outlined in its three-year Strategic Plan, Legal Aid Alberta has been working to improve the overall reputation and public understanding of the organization, its role in the justice system, and its contribution to ensuring all Albertans are able to understand and protect their legal rights.
Services for Albertans, the organization’s flagship brochure, has been updated and redesigned as part of re-branding efforts. In addition, four new brochures related to core services have been created: Adult Criminal Law, Youth Criminal Law, Family Law, and our Emergency Protection Order Program. Versions of the Emergency Protection Order Program brochures were developed for Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge.
“With the development of a new Mission, Vision, and Values for the organization, it only made sense for us to begin rolling out informative products that help people better understand what we do,” said Brian Mulawka, Director of Communications and Public Relations. “We want all stakeholders, including the general public, to fully understand and appreciate Legal Aid Alberta’s mandate and the work we undertake each and every day to protect the legal rights of our clients. Having a strong brand will make help us achieve this goal.”
The new brochures were soft-launched during Alberta Law Day events in Calgary and Edmonton on April 13, and were met with positive comments from stakeholders and members of the public who were interested in learning more about Legal Aid Alberta and its programs and services.

The other brochures will be available in the near future for organizations’ to order, along with a new ordering system that will help make it easier to get your Legal Aid Alberta literature.
